About the Community of ChanhassenThe city of Chanhassen is a rapidly growing, family oriented community, 17 miles southwest of the Twin Cities. Southwest Metro Transit offers commuter service between Chanhassen and the downtown Twin Cities areas. Parks: Chanhassen’s 500-acre park system features 23 parks covering 418 acres, 7 lakes and a recreation center. There are 55 miles of trails and sidewalks for walkers, bikers, runners, and in-line skaters to enjoy. The trails connect downtown, parks, and neighborhoods.
Facilities: The Chanhassen Senior Center, The Chanhassen Recreation Center has a fitness room, gym, aerobic/dance studio, and five public meeting rooms that are available for rent. Chanhassen is home to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
Chanhassen Recreation Center: The Chanhassen Recreation Center opened in September of 1995 and serves the residents of Chanhassen and the surrounding area. We are located at 2310 Coulter Boulevard near the intersection of Highway 5 and Galpin Boulevard (east side of Bluff Creek Elementary School).
The Recreation Center takes pride in creating a fun and friendly atmosphere for people of all ages at an affordable price. The Recreation Center is a focal point for many of the city’s recreation activities. The facilities include a gym, fitness room, aerobics/dance room, and meeting rooms.
The Recreation Center offers a unique no pre-registration system that fits busy lifestyles. Go to the “club” when you feel like it and only pay for what you use (no yearly membership fees!). Simply pay for aerobics classes, the fitness room, and open gym when you check-in, or use your punch card. Punch cards are non-refundable.
