About the Community of Minnetrista

The City of Minnetrista is 32 square miles in size, has a population of approximately 5,542 people, and is as diverse as it is beautiful. It features rolling countryside, farmland, wooded acres, and a high percentage of lakeshore and marshland. Located on the western edge of Hennepin County, it borders the City of Mound to the east, the City of Victoria to the south, Watertown Township to the west, and the City of Independence to the north. The City of St. Bonifacius is surrounded by Minnetrista in Minnetrista's southwest corner.

The citizens of Minnetrista have a great deal of pride in their city and believe that the quality of life in Minnetrista ranks the highest among the highest in the metropolitan area.

Minnetrista Parks & Recreation

The city has more than thirteen neighborhood parks with amenities varying from colorful playground equipment, tennis and basketball courts, and trails featuring exercise stations.

The Westonka Recreational Association Park operates a 20-acre park, which includes picnic area, a baseball field and four softball fields. This park is located on County Road 110W across from Gale Woods Farm, one-half mile east of the city offices.

The Lake Minnetonka Regional Park is part of the Three Rivers Park District. This park is a 292-acre facility located on County Road 44, north of State Highway 7. It features a 20,000 square foot nautical-themed playground, picnic areas, a visitor center, and boat launch. The park is well known for its beach and sand-bottomed swimming pond filled with chlorinated lake water.

The Gale Woods Farm is the latest masterpiece of the Three Rivers Park District within Minnetrista. This 410-acre educational farm is situated along the east side of Whaletail Lake; its main entrance is off County Road 110 West, about one-half mile east of the city offices. Along with its panoramic view of the lake and rolling fields, it features a picnic pavilion, cross-country running course, walking trails, and canoe access to Whaletail Lake.
